Just an FYI that my Microsoft Office Home and Business 2019 finally auto-updated to Version 2308 C2R (Build 16731.20170) and to date I haven’t noticed any obvious feature changes compared to Version 2306 or 2307. Many ‘bad’ changes affecting use of screen area, changes to presentation, etc … … The August update is a ‘step too far’ for me. However, I assume Diane Poremski’s instructions at Uninstall Updates in Office ‘Click to Run’ will work for both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of MS Office 2019 as long as your OfficeC2RClient.exe file is located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun. Specifically, Outlook 2019 MSO (Version 2308 Build 1.20052) 32-bitĭo you know why you have a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2019 C2R running on a 64-bit Win 10 OS? When I installed MS Office 2019 on my 64-bit Win 10 OS the installer automatically installed the 64-bit edition of MS Office 2019. Win 10 / 64-bit Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2019 (laptop) After the end of August 2023 update (30 August), which installed automatically without asking ! I have now blocked auto-update. The lifecycle policy for MS Office 2019 at shows that MS Office 2019 will reach end of mainstream support next month on 1 so I wouldn’t expect your MS Office 2019 product to receive many feature updates after this date, but it will continue to receive important bug fixes and security updates until the end of extended support on 1 if automatic updates are enabled. Just note that if you turn off your MS Office 2019 C2R automatic updates then you will stop receiving the security patches documented at. However, if you don’t turn on your automatic updates again after your rollback then you’ll never receive the bug fix, and rolling back to Version 2305 should restore that missing Start Up Options setting. Microsoft is posting updates about this bug in the support article Outlook Unexpectedly Prompts to Reopen Items From Your Last Session (last updated 0). Reopen those items from your last session?” to appear on occasion when Outlook is started, and this bug removed the setting at File | Options | General | Start Up Options that allows users to disable this prompt if they wish. There was an annoying bug introduced in Version 2306 of perpetual editions of Outlook C2R that causes a prompt saying “ Outlook closed while you had items open. Then after turning off your automatic updates at File | Office Account | Update Options | Disable Updates I would suggest rolling a bit further back to Version 2305 (Build 16501.20210) released on 1 by entering the command “C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe” /update user updatetoversion=1.20210 in an elevated command prompt. … once I roll-back or reinstall from an image, I think my Office 2019 will not be updated (ever) beyond the July update Just remember to turn your automatic updates back on once you feel it’s safe to do so.ĭell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3324 * Firefox v117.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v0.2006-0.2005 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.1.280- * Macrium Reflect Free v * Microsoft Office 2019 Home and Business 2019 Version 2307 / Build 16626.20170 Click-to-Run If you want to roll back to the 0 update then Diane’s instructions will show you how to temporarily stop your Office updates at File | Office Account | Update Options | Disable Updates (to prevent Outlook from automatically updating back to Version 2308) and then enter the command “C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe” /update user updatetoversion=6.20170 in an elevated command prompt with Administrator rights to roll back to Version 2307 (Build 16626.20170). Previous version numbers and release dates for retail editions of MS Office 2019 C2R are posted at and show that the previous Version 2307 (Build 16626.20170) was released on 0. Diane Poremsky has posted instructions in the article Uninstall Updates in Office ‘Click to Run’ on her Outlook and Exchange Solutions Center at that should work for all Click-to-Run (C2R) editions of MS Office, including MS Office 2016 / 2019 / 2021 C2R.
